چکیده
Abstract Infantile haemangiomas (IHs) are common. Timely referral and treatment can minimize complications in high-risk lesions. The IH European Task Force developed the Haemangioma Referral Score (IHRes) 2020 (Léauté-Labrèze C, Torres EB, Weibel L et al. Hemangioma Score: a validated tool for physicians. Pediatrics 2020; 145:e20191628). This is simple, easy-to-access screening that assist physicians deciding which IHs to refer an expert centre. aim of this study was assess quality referrals national care Data were retrospectively collected from random sample patients over 13-month period between January 2019 February 2020. Fifty-six included. Eighty-six per cent had solitary haemangioma (n = 48); 52% located on head 29). Sixteen (29%) referred 5 8 weeks age (29%); five (9%) before age. majority came primary (55%; n 31). Seventy-three referrers did not specify urgency 41); 59% subsequently triaged as urgent by consultant dermatologist 33). Most size (43%; 24), if it actively growing (48%; 27), ulcerated (93%; 52) or potentially function threatening (84%; 47). Nine included photograph lesion 5). Seventy-five satisfied IHRes six major criteria scores > 4, warranting 42). Fifteen (27%) started propranolol at first appointment further 12 monitored return appointment. Our results show use IHReS could improve clinical outcomes identifying children require specialist earlier facilitate easier triage referrals.

Update on Infantile Haemangioma
Article type: Review Article Infantile Haemangiomas (IH) are the most common vascular tumors occurring in early childhood, with a prevalence of approximately 510% of infants. These vascular tumors are divided into two main groups including; infantile haemangioma and vascular malformations. Although, haemangioma of infancy are common, benign and selflimited tumors, a significant percent of these...
متن کاملInfantile Haemangioma – An unusual location
A “haemangioma”(Greek for blood-vessel-growth) of Infancy is a benign overgrowth of blood vessel cells in the skin. It is also known as proliferative haemangioma because it is due to proliferating endothelial cells; these are the cells that line blood vessels. The incidence ranges from 1% in neonates to 12% [1]. These are known to appear soon after birth, proliferate for 8-18 months, and then s...
متن کاملHaemogenic endothelium in infantile haemangioma.
BACKGROUND Proliferating infantile haemangioma (IH) is a tumour of the microvasculature composed predominantly of immature endothelial cells. The origin of IH is unclear, but it has been shown to express markers of both endothelial and haematopoietic lineages, and a role for endothelial progenitor cells in the aetiology of IH has been suggested. Haemangioblasts are precursors of both endothelia...
متن کاملInfantile haemangioma: a complicated disease.
Infantile haemangiomas (IH) are common benign vascular tumors of childhood. They are characterised by rapid growth during the first year of life and slow regression that is usually completed by 7-10 years of age. The underlying mechanism of action of IH is aberrant angiogenesis and vasculogenesis, and involves the mammalian target of rapamycin pathway and vascular endothelial growth factor path...
